About Sana Fela

LOCATION AND MISSION
Sana Fela was founded in 2009 in Orange County, CA. The East Coast Office in Massachusetts was opened at the start of 2011. Our mission is to develop and market botanical skin care products that are based on sound science, as well as unlock the most important skin care scientific literature for the general public.

WHAT DOES THE NAME SANA FELA MEAN?
Sana Fela means “healthy skin” in Esperanto, a universal phonetic language scientifically designed in the late 1800′s that is based on words common among the main European languages. We were inspired to choose this name because the genesis of Esperanto reflects our science based approach to designing herbal skin care products. In contrast to many herbal treatments that are based on folklore and myth, at Sana Fela we look at science to guide us in the formulation of our products.

SANA FELA AND THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD
A lot of the claims that are being made of the beneficial effects of botanicals are not founded in scientific fact. Often, the list of beneficial effects for certain over-hyped herbs is so long and diverse, that it seems like they can pretty much heal anything. This, of course, is more often than not a myth. The way to find out about the real benefits of a particular herbal treatment, is to go to the scientific literature and to evaluate the evidence. This website, as well as the products of Sana Fela, are the result of the evaluation of the scientific literature on the efficacy of herbs and supplements. All the data you will find here has been researched and we will tell you straight whether or not something makes scientific sense or not.
